Lesson 2 - Annual Energy Usage Report
1. From the Project Menu, click on the name of the scenario for which you want to run the report.
2. Click on "View Energy Reports".
3. Click on "All Parcels" next to "Annual Energy Usage by Place Type".

4.This report shows the annual energy usage for each place type. The report is divided into three sections: Gas Usage (in kBtu), Electric Usage (in kWh) and Air Emissions. Each of the two energy sections has energy usage broken down into separate end uses. Gas is broken down into heat, DHW (hot water), dryer and miscellaneous. Electric usage is broken down into cooling, lighting, fan, plug, heat, DHW (hot water), dryer and refrigeration. Air emissions include CO2, NO and SO2.

5. At the top of the report, there are two options to "Apply Energy Efficiencies" to "Redeveloped" and/or "Newly Developed" parcels. Check one or both of the boxes and click "Re-Run Report".
6. When viewing the report with energy efficiencies applied, the report will show energy usage totals, but cannot show energy usage by end use. The goal of the Energy Efficiency component of the Places energy module is to apply practical and likely energy efficiency measures applied to the energy usage model so that buildings exceed Title 24 building standards.
7. There is also the ability to view the energy report for a specific sub-area layer or specific sub-area. Clicking on "View This Report for a Specific Sub-Area" will bring you to a list of sub-areas in the project. Click on a sub-area name to continue.
8. A list of the sub-areas in your sub-area layer is shown. You can view statistics for the whole sub-area layer by clicking on "View Aggregate Statistics for all of the Sub-Areas Listed Below", or you can view statistics for a single sub-area by clicking on the sub-area name.
9. The report will now show statistics for the sub-area chosen. The red bar near the top of the window shows the name of the sub-area layer and sub-area. Clicking "Remove Sub-Area Filter" will remove the sub-area restriction from the report.
