First Time Setup

1. PASSWORD REQUEST - You must request access to Places the first time you enter the Place3s website. From the main Places login page http://www.places.energy.ca.gov/places/ , click the "Password Request" link near the bottom of the page, this will take you to the account setup page.
Click "Password Request"

2. ACCOUNT SETUP - Once on the account setup page, fill out all of the fields on the form and click "Continue with Account Setup". The login and password you create are instantly engaged and you’ll use them for all subsequent access to the website.
Fill out all the fields on the form and then click on "Continue with Account Setup"
3. REQUEST ACCESS TO PROJECTS - The next page will say that you currently don't have access to any projects, and that you need to 'Request Access'.
Click on “Request Access”
4. SEARCH FOR PROJECTS - This page allows you to search for available projects by project name. If you are unsure of the project name, type an * before and after the partial project name. (e.g. *Citrus Heights*) which will select all projects including that partial name.
Type a project name or a partial project name and click on "Search for Project"
5. REQUEST ACCESS TO PROJECTS - This page will show you all projects that match the search you entered.
Place a check in the box next to the project(s) that you would like access to, and click on "Request Checked Projects"
6. PROJECT ACCESS - To ensure that project access is granted in a timely manner, Email the Project Administrator (his/her name is located on the same line as the project name, in the right hand column) and let him/her know that you have requested access to their project(s). Once access has been granted for a project, it does not need to be requested again.
